Hi I am from CA and I filed for my first UI claim in July 2019. I renewed for a second year claim in August 2020 and now I just filed another (third year) claim.
I still have uncollected balance in my extension but since I worked part-time throughout the year, I am qualified for the third year claim. Obviously the new WBA is much lower than the extension's WBA (a couple hundred dollars less)
I called EDD to ask to be put back on the extension according to Deferred New Claim Payment (DNCP) guidance. However, the rep told me that because all the extensions are based on my first year claim (again, filed in July 2019), I am not eligible for DNCP have now will be stuck with the low WBA of third year claim.
So my questions are:
Is this information correct ?
Where can find the fine prints for applicable rules in my situation ?
Thanks for reading and look forward to hearing back from the community's wise minds.
