Hello, I've read that I should receive a text (?) notification 7-10 days after my regular UI benefits run out saying that I will be switched to PEUC. My balance went to $0.00 on 1/17 and I've yet to receive a text. Should I continue waiting or assume that something hasn't qualified me for PEUC and call EDD? Thank you!

They say that they will contact you either through your UI box or by mail if you qualify for PEUC, but I wasn't notified until a week before I could certify and that was about 3-4 months. And this was at the beginning of the pandemic and not in the thick because my UI claim ran out in March 2020. The CARES act passed but the info for those who qualified for PEUC was not available and everyone who didn't qualify for a regular UI claim was instructed to apply for PUA at the end of April, which of course crashed their system for days. When I finally learned about PEUC on the EDD website it said that if you qualify for PEUC you won't qualify for PUA so don't file for PUA and if you did, they would cancel your PUA claim and then automatically put you on PEUC and of course notify you in 7-10 days stating this. They didn't notify me and they rolled out the PEUC in 2 phases so if you were in phase 2 you had to wait until July before they got to you. It wasn't until August that I was able to finally certify and I got the notice a week before and a text message on the day of.
