I was originally out of work in November 2019. I filed for unemployment and got the PEUC which ended late last year when I exhausted the benefits. This year I applied for PUA because I had a job lined up last March that was lost because of Covid. The EDD denied my claim stating that I hadn't worked during the right time period. I filed an appeal because I had one week's earnings during the period in question which began 11-1-19 and enough income to meet their standard. That was a month ago... I still haven't heard back.
Now I'm wondering if I should be reapplying for PEUC because I may qualify under the new federal legislation. The question is when I apply do I say I'm out of work because of COVID or leave the disaster Information page blank?
You can list that you are effected by Covid if you are. The pandemic is still going on so you should be okay in putting that in the disaster information.
It's probably likely they will put you back on PEUC since you did have an older eligible claim
