For all of you who had to sign up with ID me, that includes myself, we had to agree to allowing this company to send out emails promoting sales from participating stores. If you didn't agree, I'm sure you couldn't use the service, which would've left you SOOL because then you wouldn't get your UI benefits.
So why is the EDD using a service that requires people to opt-in to advertising from them? The obvious answer would be this advertising helps ID Me stay in business and keep the service free, which would be a reasonable answer. However, this is a company that EDD decided to use. As applicants to a government run program that runs on tax dollars, we should not be subjected to advertisements as a condition to receive our unemployment benefits or any other fee that may or may not come along with using a service that is insisted upon by the Calif EDD. There are other ways to verify someone's identity, so this is not the only option that exists. No, there is a specific reason why ID.Me was selected as the source to verify someone's identity and I'd like to know what that is?
Something reeks at the California EDD and I guarantee you that there is a conflict of interest between it and ID Me. This is outrageous.
Does anyone know what the er321 code means when I try to log on and what Dept I need to contact to get it removed and allow me to log on ??
