Hi everyone...I just learned about this website, hope someone can help!
This past week (Sunday) I was due for my bi-weekly certification, and of course this was the weekend that the EDD site was having a bunch of problems - which they didn't officially post on their site until around Tuesday or Wednesday. I was finally able to get my certification through, but I only got paid for ONE week...the second week is showing "Pending". I was finally able to get through to someone tonight, she told me that this is because my claim is coming up on a year and I will need to submit a NEW claim....and then they will determine if I start a new one OR if they continue my existing one. I see absolutely NO indication of this. everything on my end looks normal. she was a little snarky, but nice. I told her I wasn't doubting her, but I was hesitant to do anything that would potentially screw up my claim. she then said she could transfer me to an "examiner", which she did, and I was on hold for over an hour, and then at 8:05 PM the message came on saying they were closed and I got hung up on. so I was on the phone for close to 2 hours. ugh!
so my inclination is to wait until April 4 (my next certification), and see what happens. Has anyone else experienced this?

EDD website has said that you have to reapply if your claim expired. If you would like to wait you can, but you might have to backdate it so your claim can continue from when it ended.... which will likely be extra steps to take., though not impossible.
