A claim was filed on my behalf by the Federal Government (PUA), I believe in December '20 or January '21. Since then I have been actively seeking employment while certifying and regularly receiving benefits in the form of a physical check. The last payment I received was on April 9th, 2021 but despite the fact that I've continued to keep up with my job search as well as my weekly certifications that the EDD online portal has been receiving and accepting, I have not received any benefits/checks since and am down to my last dime with August rent/other expenses looming around the corner.
I've been calling for almost two months straight attempting to get ahold of someone and I've gotten through exactly twice. The first woman told me she didn't know what the problem was/didn't have access to that information and that I should call back and press "1-2-1" in place of the "1-2-4" extensions that I was pressing. I then got through to another person who told me the same (didn't know why I wasn't receiving payments/didn't have access to that info) but that he could put me on a call back list from a "second tier representative," whatever that means, and I could also choose to stay on hold to speak to someone in that tier. I chose both options - to be placed on a call back list as well as stay on hold and I was on hold for 4 hours until the office closed for the day and I was disconnected. Additionally, I never received a call back nor any snail mail attempting to resolve my issue.
I sent in multiple questions online via the EDD portal as well as sent a physical letter to the San Bernadino office but again, never heard back from anyone.
I've contacted my assembly person who actually got back to me but haven't heard from in a week regarding actually taking steps to advocate on my behalf.
I continue to call and finally got through to someone today, who hung up on me because I asked to be put through to someone who had access to info that could help me. Apparently that was rude.
I'm at my wits end.
