I started this process in October 2020. Could not continue without ID.me, didn't have proper docs. Due to COVID - items took longer to get than usual. Birth Certificate from Alameda county took almost 3 months. As luck would have it, completed ID.me verification on 12/28/20. Put a request into backdate claim to date I opened my EDD online acct - 10/26 or so. Request Declined
Reason:
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request to backdate your claim to 10/26/20. This date falls out of the backdating parameters. If you have any other questions, please contact a Customer Service Representative at 1-800-300-5616. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 8am – 12pm. Thank you for contacting the EDD.
Question- Is this futile to try and get backdated to the correct day, since I finally got verified after Cares I expired on 12/26? Have you seen any successes since Cares II of a backdate into 2020? I have all documentation, proof of income, etc and am currently receiving the weekly since 12/28/20. Just thought I was entitled to the back pay from October.
i was hoping you had more informatio! I’m in the same exact boat!! I became unemployed in March, I was told by EDD rep I could not apply for unemployment bc I only worked for 3 weeks. However, come to find out I WAS able to apply and by the time I got my documents for IDme it says out of parameter. What do I do?
Are you w2 claimant or PUA?
In the bill it did say they are putting a limitation for anyone who wants to backdate after Dec 26-- which is unfair and unreasonable especially in your case where it took forever to gather documents. This either results in calling them or appealing. What is your claim start date that's listed on your main page?
