This is regarding submitting self Employed income for 2019 for PUA and what kind of income I need, like would customer receipts do and what happens if I don’t submit by the deadline, here is some information about my claim and where im at, I am wondering if anyone has an answer for me: I applied for PUA benefits In September 2020 dating back to April 2020. finally after almost a year of going back and forth about ID verify I got through to the ID verify department last week, they told me that my documents I had submitted from last year were fine but I had to resubmit recent documents from this year to verify it’s still me and someone hadnt gotten into my account. Thankfully I had went to the DMV and got a Real ID a couple weeks ago so I uploaded that, my last months PGE statement and my birth certificate, which I had already uploaded prior. Two days later they approved all my pending certifications and everything says paid from April 2020 to December 27th 2020 hopefully all I’m waiting on is my card in the mail. Now on my online EDD account it says that I need to upload income verification from 2019 within 21 days and that if I don’t upload then my benefits will be stopped and I may have to repay any benefits I wasn’t entitled for, my claim was also changed from ending in December 2020 to ending in September 21 I did some research and I found an article saying that as of December 27th 2020 all PUA claimants have to upload income verification or won’t be entitled to any more benefits and will have to repay any benefits paid after December 27th 2020, so because my claim ended on December 27th 2020 and they just paid me for My claim weeks ending December 27th, does that mean if they don’t accept my income verification will I need to pay back what they paid me? It’s confusing because they paid me for weeks from April 2020 to December 2020 but they didn’t pay me until July 2021. Also wondering if I can submit personal receipts I wrote out to each of my clients after payment. That’s the only income verification that I have. Please let me know if you know about this. Here is the article I found about the ACT passed after December 27th 2020, it’s for Massachusetts, I’m in California though:

Pandemic Unemployment Assistance - Substantiation/Proof of Employment Learn how to provide substantiation of employment, which is documentation of proof of employment, self-employment, or plans to begin employment or self-employment as required by the Continued Assistance Act signed into law on Dec. 27, 2020.
EMPLOYMENT SUBSTANTIATION DEADLINE EXTENDED If you have not already provided proof of employment or self-employment that you were unable to continue due to COVID-19, or the planned commencement of employment or self-employment, and you have a deadline of June 21, you MUST respond by the extended deadline of July 1, 2021. If you do not respond by July 1, 2021, your PUA benefits will stop, and you will be required to repay benefits you received after December 27, 2020. Even if you have stopped claiming PUA benefits, you must respond to this request for information as it may involve benefits you have already received.
