EDD indicates “reopen your claim.” I’m on extension, have a claim balance, and claim year ends May 2021. What should I do?

Did you reopen? Most recent newsletter said those who reopened without getting an official notice might get delayed payments for the first few weeks. That doesn't mean you'll never see those weeks -- it's just delayed. If you didn't reopen and the button is still there, EDD still said they're implementing things for the next two weeks (Jan 23 would be the end of two weeks)... so I would still sit tight if I were you.

I got my last payment on December 28 2020 . I still have a balance $239 on my claim start date is 3/29/2020 on extension . i

@markadiaz@cox.net They should have fixed it, but how long has the reopen button been there? I think if it's been three weeks, personally I would click it. Either they have fixed it by now or you need to call anyway -- so if it's been 3 weeks or more and nothing has changed I would hit it now.

@Lizzie Colwell when certification opens it's usually open for 2 weeks or so, so you've got time to wait if you want to wait. Maybe wait a week and see if it updates? You should still be okay re: certifying for the 10th

@Erica Chan thanks! Unfortunately, I did start it. But hoping it just gets wiped out next Saturday night & resets as if I didn't touch it. I'll post updates.

Update: I was able to certify on Jan 12. So waiting for it to work itself out was the way to go.
