Whatever you received is just something standard they send. You are correct that due to the pandemic it's not required. When you say you filled out your claim are you filing a new claim or are you referring to the certification?? Can you send a screen shot?

Are you UI or PUA? If you are UI you can follow instructions here: https://www.unemploymentgurus.com/post/backdating If you are PUA -- when did you apply? .If you applied after Dec 27, 2020 that means the furthest you can backdate is Dec 6, 2020. You can still use that link and attempt to backdate all the way to March -- but that's the verbiage on the EDD website that there are new limitations. If you had applied prior to Dec 27, 2020 -- you can probably backdate to March no problem. @Arevik Adamyan :( Yeah you have to be on top of them and check in. If after 3 weeks or so there is no notice, I would call in and check (I know it's a nightmare to call but they don't leave anyone with many options)

@r_coronado917 Yeah, that sounds like a tough position to be in. In truth, if they are offered full-time work and are refusing it not for a good reason they could be disqualified from receiving unemployment. For example, a good reason to deny work would be if the employer did not supply enough PPE for workers to work. But if the employer did supply a working condition where they did everything possible to provide a safe working condition -- an employee cannot deny that work -- it wouldn't be good enough for EDD to keep them on unemployment. It's up to you what you would like to put on the form but that's what the rules are. They should not be refusing full time work. Doing so can result to disqualification. If they are instead being offered only part-time work that is a different story. In that case both you and them need to report they are working on call or part time and will be continuing work... not laid off. That is the wrong category.

That is correct. It's $25 less. This was mentioned in the US Department of Labor guidance for the new federal provisions. The guidance says its for anyone who expires after December 27, 2020. Also - once you start collecting from a new claim it's very difficult to adjust an older claim, or even go back to it. Forwarding your new claim to a new start date is very unlikely especially since you've started collecting. :(

To be honest it sounds like this is something you would need to call in for to make that go away. You can also try the contact page in your online profile and see if that's any faster (though I've heard it is not). I wouldn't wait on it especially since you haven't been able to certify at all. :(

@mmunoz213 Yeah I might just assume EDD just being slower even though they say 7-10 days, you know what I mean. The reason why I asked if you worked at all is because if your claim start date is 3/22 then you should have started the extension 26 weeks later which is around mid-September. So.. I'm a little bit confused that you only hit zero Jan 31 if you had not worked at all since March? To be honest - the best thing to understand everything is to look at the claim history and count out the weeks to see exactly where you are in regards to benefits/extensions, etc. So if you want to share your claim history via screen shot I can probably tell you more instead of asking you a million questions.

Was it through ID.me? Have they sent you a confirmation that your ID is verified?

All extension are usually automatic. It could be because of all these new extensions maybe they had to do that. Did you happen to work at all? Because that could have delayed your triggering the extension. You have to hit zero for the extensions to trigger. When did you hit 0? Because it takes 7-10 days for them to send you a notice about the extension.

If you had regular UI you should have gotten extensions? If not you have money owed to you. What's it say on your main page and when was the last time you got paid? If it was my claim I would figure out how to get those extensions going if you hadn't already received them. If March comes along, you may have to apply for new benefits and if you did not work at all in 2020, then you would qualify for PUA.

In the bill it did say they are putting a limitation for anyone who wants to backdate after Dec 26-- which is unfair and unreasonable especially in your case where it took forever to gather documents. This either results in calling them or appealing. What is your claim start date that's listed on your main page?

It all sounds correct to me? It is possible that since you changed that they're just verifying that you are actually unemployed by no fault of your own. EDD sent a new release saying if it is pending it's likely that you will get a phone interview for them to check your eligibility.

Do you have a screen shot of that letter? It sounds odd. You don't really need to change anything when you go from part time to completely unemployed -- you just have to fill out the certification and put that you didn't work at all. What does it say on your claim history and main page? Is it pending or you just don't have weeks to certify at all?

I'm not trying to make excuses for them, I don't have control of what's going on and it is true they have a ton of things going on -- does it mean it's excusable that people are suffering from it? Absolutely not. The forum is a free and public place for discussion that can also help others who are experiencing the same issues connect. I've already given you two solutions -- either to call or appeal and advised that if you do not hear from them in 2-3 weeks to send it in again. You can also contact your assemblyman if you'd like. ? I don't think I've ever heard of it being too late to file taxes... you just get penalties is the 39600 net income? If it's gross, that's the incorrect number that you should have put down. Worst case I guess you can either call to see if you can resubmit your wages or just go straight to appeal
