My benefit year ended 4/9/21, I filed a new claim on the phone with Jorge, and was told since I have not worked for a year I would not qualify, and be put on the new 29 week extension on my old claim. I did receive the extension letter in my edd inbox on 4/9/21. When I certified on 4/25/21 I was switched to a regular UI claim?? less weekly money, less weeks...I checked my online edd account on Friday 5/19/21 and now it shows disqualification for the last 4 weeks I was paid for, and I received a DE 238 stating my new work search requirement change: You must be able and available for work each week. This means that you are not required to look for work, but you must be able to work and available for work each week to be eligible for UI benefits. This was confusing....I thought it has been like this since last March 2020? I'm suppose to certify tomorrow 5/23/21 ... I have a bad feeling I have just hit the EDD Hell Highway! If anyone can figure out what is going on here that would be greatly appreciated!
